Online Supervision
I have been working as a Clinical Supervisor in educational and private settings, since 2015.
I have previously been employed as a supervisor offering clinical supervision to therapists working with children and young people. Within my Private Practice, I also work with supervisees who counsel adults and couples. As a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, I am qualified to work with adults, couples and young people.
My main theoretical approach is Psychodynamic, but I work from an eclectic model, drawing from my experience as a therapist and supervisor, focusing on the supervisees needs.
My manner is relational and relaxed. I understand the seriousness of the work we do with our clients but approach my responsibility as a clinical supervisor with curiosity, compassion and humour, when appropriate.
Within our contracting, I would bring in reviews of our working relationship to ensure that our evolving clinical thinking space, was as supportive and enriching as the supervisee needs.
As a qualified supervisor, I work from the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision. Which, in short, means I encourage my supervisees to bring every element to their role as a clinician, to our meetings. The “seven eyes” include: the client; interventions used; counsellor/client relationship; the counsellor; supervisor/supervisee relationship; the supervisor and the systems. The structure of this modality can help supervisees to bring focus to all areas of their clinical work. It is also a useful tool, when we review our work and relationship, to bring about a balanced overview of our clinical thinking space. I have also found that this model encourages a good degree of reflection on clinical practice, and in turn supports growth and professional development.
I know how difficult it is to find and choose a supervisor, so I am very happy to meet on Zoom for an initial chat. To see if our personalities and modalities suit and explore the potential of us working together.
