Counselling provided by a BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist is treated normally as entirely confidential. Breaching that confidentiality would never be taken lightly and would only arise in exceptional circumstances. For example if the counsellor judged it to be necessary due to a perceived risk of death, injury or harm to client or someone else. If there was a disclosure around potential Child Protection issues, or of a legal requirement of disclosure by knowledge of money laundering or terrorism activity.

The timing, frequency and fees for the counselling session will be by prior arrangement. Each session will be for 50 minutes. Payment for each session is due on booking. On receipt of payment, agreed appointment date and time will be confirmed. If no payment is received 24hrs following request, arranged date and time will not be held and confirmed.   If a client wishes to cancel an arranged session, a minimum of 48 hours notice must be given to the counsellor. Failing which no refund will be processed. As much notice as is reasonably possible will be given to the client, in the event that the counsellor has to cancel any session. Separate terms for Supervisees.
